The UK's largest Comedy Brand was for sale!! I had a mission, the best is yet to come!
In March 2020 I was approached by one of my employee's to partner up and buy the comedy brand #Jongleurs. This was a dream come true for me, as I had previously enquired about buying the brand back in 2017. After 5 weeks of preparing the contract, I decided to walk away from the agreement due to friction in our contractual partnership.
2 months later, I found the contract sitting under a pile of paper work and decide to enquire whether the brand was still for sale. To my surprise no one had bought Jongleurs, so like De'Niro I made an offer he couldn't refuse...
"I have a vision for Jongleurs, I want to bring hope to my industry and I want to build the biggest Comedy brand in the world". Thats all I said before we shook hands and I became the owner.
In 2006 I did my first and last Jongleurs open mic at Dingwalls in #Camdentown. The booking agent Marilyn Nelson was watching that show and approached me afterward to confirm I would be headlining Bristol the following week. I never looked back and spent the next three years headlining every Jongleurs club in the UK.
First things first, lets offer work for the comics who were owed money after the company went into administration!
A few Comedians were left with no payment after the company went into administration in 2017. My first intentions when purchasing the brand was to make sure the comics who were owed money were offered work first. We are now focusing on building the brand and bringing the laughter back to as many venues in the UK as possible.
